AnneMarie Jeffries, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
SPECIALTIES:
Individual and couples psychotherapy with older adolescents (ages 16+), young adults, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, trauma, stress management, family-of- origin issues, gender and sexuality, religion/spirituality, adjustment and transition, as well as identity development, navigation, negotiation, and integration.
I am a licensed psychologist in practice in the Atlanta area. I have experience working with people with a variety of presenting issues whose backgrounds and experiences reflect diversity in its many forms.
My therapy work is grounded in an interpersonal approach and is highly integrative. This means that I regard relationships as fundamental to our experiences as people. Similarly, I view the therapeutic relationship as paramount to the therapeutic process as well as a core avenue for growth and healing. My interpersonal approach to therapy draws on some of my personal characteristics, which include sincerity, compassion, authenticity, warmth, and nonjudgment.
I am flexible and creative, and I consistently integrate other therapeutic approaches into my work based on an individual’s needs and context. Some of the therapeutic approaches that I typically incorporate into my interpersonal approach include humanistic, cognitive behavioral, attachment, somatic, EMDR, dialectical behavioral, and experiential therapy. My work can be described as collaborative, respectful, empowering, and responsive to an individual’s needs in the moment and over time. I appreciate that it is important that my work is effective for you. I maintain an ongoing dialogue with my clients about our work together, so that we can stay focused on your goals and assess our progress.
